Ty Harrison - Senior Minister
Kim and I are excited about our appointment to Alcoa 1st UMC. We were married in 1984 while I was finishing my undergraduate work at Berea College in Kentucky. After four years of working in the furniture industry I answered the call to preach in the United Methodist Church. My Master of Divinity degree I earned at Duke Divinity School of Duke University. From there, Kim and I ministered in Pulaski, VA, Galax, VA, Kodak, TN, Hillsville, VA, and most recently Keith Memorial in Athens, TN. Kim and I are blessed with three daughters, Joye, who is a student at Liberty University, Elizabeth, 15 years old and Lydia, who is 8 years old. While I was raised in Lynchburg, VA, Kim was raised in Mt. Airy, NC. We are familiar with this area as Kim has an aunt, uncle and cousins that live in Maryville. Alcoa First’s reputation preceded you as you are known for your effectiveness in Children’s and Youth ministries and your vibrancy in worship and missions. Our family looks forward with great anticipation of being in ministry with you for years to come.
