CHILDREN'S DEPARTMENT

At Alcoa First Methodist Church Children’s Department, our mission is to follow Jesus’ instructions to “Go and make disciples of all men” (Matt 28:19-20).

AFMC Children’s department serves children ages birth through 5th grade. We have nursery for babies and toddlers ages 0-3. We have Cherub Church every Sunday during the 9:30 service, followed by Sunday School from 10:30-11:30. We also have Kids club every Wednesday night at 5:30 pm for children ages 4-10. During the school year, we also have a Cherub Choir that meets on Wednesday nights at 5:30.

We focus on teaching children the Scriptures through fun and age appropriate curriculum. We also make plenty of time for fun, fellowship and service opportunities.

Come visit us this Wednesday and Sunday! All are welcome!

Come have breakfast with the Easter Bunny on Saturday, March 30th from 9-11 am in the fellowship hall at Alcoa First Methodist.

We will have face painting, crafts, a telling of the Easter story and an egg hunt on our lawn! (There will be a separate hunt for babies ages 0-3).

And If you can guess  the correct number of jelly beans in the jar, you’ll win a special prize! We can’t wait to see you there!

Miss Katherine’s K-2nd grade Sunday School class is using the Dig In! curriculum to explore the foundations of the Christian Faith

Digging Into Foundations of Faith lays the groundwork for what it means to be a Christian. Kids explore what the Bible reveals about who God is and how God sees us, how we fit in God’s family, and how we live the Christian life. As kids understand core concepts of Christianity, they’ll gain a solid framework for their own relationship with Jesus

This program uses games, science experiments, hands on object lessons and crafts to illustrate concepts in order to create highly engaging lessons.

Our 4th grade students are working on the Be Bold! Series with Mrs. Debbie.

They get the chance to ask the hard questions and get the tools to dig into the Word to see what God says. pastedGraphic.png

Each week of the quarter 1, kids will dive into questions like Is It Okay That I Sometimes Doubt God? (John 3:16); If God Loves the World, Why Does He Let Bad Stuff Happen? (1 Chronicles 29:11); Does God Care About How I Use My Time? (John 3:16); What’s the Point of Going to Church? (Hebrews 13:5) and more!
